“I’ve always wanted to…”

“If I get the chance to…”

“Maybe I’ll save some money so that I can…”

I’ve found myself saying these two statements quite frequently over the past few months. Yep. It’s time to revisit the bucket list.

About a month ago, we were able to see DJ Jazzy Jeff perform in Hollywood at Kiss N’ Grind. It was definitely one of the highlights of our year. We hadn’t danced that hard and that long in a long time. W didn’t even realize it was on his bucket list until he did it. Ha!

So after watching an episode of ‘TI & Tiny’s: Family Hustle‘ (stop laughing), I’ve decided that I need to update my bucket list.

At one point, I was using 43 Things to create a list of short term goals. And since we are already using SimpleNote for synchronizing our grocery list, todos, etc, I think I’ll simply create a new list in the Listary app (iOS), and start updating the list in Listary.

First Item on My New Bucket List

  1. Surfing Lessons in Hawaii

What’s on Your Bucket List?

Think about it. Get back to me.
Maybe it’s something I’d like to add to mine.

Brownie for Breakfast | Courtney Social Media Consultant in Los Angeles

I’m about to eat a brownie for breakfast, because I’m ’bout that life…

Fiber One – 90 Calorie Brownies

Almost a little upset that I didn’t buy them myself. I had to lie and
say that they didn’t taste so great so that they’d stay in the pantry
just a little longer.

Judge me not.

Rest in Peace, Maurice Sendak | Courtney Social Media Consultant in Los Angeles

Author and Illustrator of “Where The Wild Things Are”, Maurice Sendak, has passed away today, May 8th, 2012 at the age of 83.

‘Where the Wild Things Are’, one of the 10 bestselling children’s books of all time, and winner of the Caldecott Medal for most distinguished American picture book for children in 1964, was my favorite childhood book.

As a child, I imagined being Max in that costume and wanting to visit wherever the wild things were. And when I saw the movie preview for the first time on TV, even as an adult, I teared up in excitement.

But it makes sense because, Maurice Sendak wrote stories “about human emotion and life.” He was a great author and an even better illustrator.

Rest in Peace, Maurice Sendak.

I want to updated more.

Believe me; I do.

I’m still here, but I’m working non-stop on client projects, so I barely have enough time for my own.

My goal for my birthday month, October, is to update at least once a week.

I think I can pull that off. (a ha!)

Wisdom Teeth Fantasies | Courtney Social Media Consultant in Los Angeles

I had my wisdom teeth pulled yesterday. Since then, I’ve pretty much only been eating apple sauce and soft serve ice cream. #facepalm

And this has led me to craving a whole bunch of madness that I have absolutely no business craving, whether my teeth were pulled or not.

Like…

Goobers – from the movie theatre
Harry & David’s Moose Munch – bougie Crunch n’ Munch
Nerds – you know, the Willy Wonka candy
Popeye’s Biscuits
Red Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuits
PopSecret Homestyle Popcorn
Tumby’s Pizza
Toffee covered peanuts – gas station kind
Cheetos
…among other crap.

So this will serve as my hitlist.

The moment I realize that I can eat hard foods again, I’m going on a gat-damn shopping spree.

Catch me.

Just thought I’d share my favorite Martin Luther King Quote…

“The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.” — From “Strength to Love”.

Have a great week, folks!

Stepping Out On Faith | Courtney Social Media Consultant in Los Angeles

I fear the unknown.

Letting go, and letting God do what He does has always been the hardest thing for me. Whether it’s business or personal, I’m a worrier. I admit it. It’s true. I worry about everything and pretty much everyone who is important to me.

After talking with a friend today, I realized that I’ve been holding back lately…and I don’t want to do that anymore. That’s not what I want for 2011.

So, once again, I’m stepping out on faith…and attempting to “live by faith, not by sight (2 Corinthians 5:7) “.

It’s gonna be a great year. I have faith that it will be.
