Evernote 5 for iOS is coming soon!
The Evernote team provided us with an early look of what’s to be expected in Evernote 5 on iOS.

We have some exciting news. Evernote’s team of developers and designers have spent months rethinking our app to make it as fast, uncluttered, and easy to use as possible. The result is the all new Evernote 5 for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. It’s a beautiful, re-imagined experience that puts everything you need no more than two taps away.

Evernote 5 for iOS - New User Interface

Evernote 5 for iOS Features

  • New Home Screen with updated Notebook UI & Access to Notestacks on iPad
  • Easy Access to create Quick Notes, take Quick Snapshots, and utilize the Page Camera
  • Easy access to premium features

I really love the way greater focus is given to the new note and photo capture buttons. The ‘notebook’, ‘tag’, and ‘places’ sections are now tabbed below the new note buttons with a cool new folder style user interface. And the fact that notes, notebooks, and notestacks are now distinguishable is a great boost in usability.

Google is testing a new Gmail format that is supposed to make it easier for users to reference previous emails without closing the draft.

The new email layout puts drafts in a small chat-sized popup (read: modal) window.

This layout has not been completely rolled out, but any non-Enterprise Google Apps user can test the feature and roll it back to the current layout if they don’t like it.

How to Try the New Gmail

1 Open a new email draft via the Compose button.

2 Click on “Try out the new compose experience“.

What’s Great About the New Gmail

  • Profile Pictures in Contact Lists
  • Adjustable Draft Window Size
  • New Mail visible while in Draft mode

My thoughts on the Touchdown Reversal during the Cowboys vs Giants Game (10/28/2012):

It was a conspiracy. We lost by an inch.

YAY for Witten and his 18 reception record.

But, BOO on him waiting until I benched him in Fantasy Football to do so.

The Cowboys are now 3 – 4 – 0. Fail.

How ya gonna get us out of this one, Romo?

A lot of folks have been complaining about the battery life of their iPhone 4 / iPhone 4S while running iOS 6.
Here’s a quick tip to lighten your iPhone 4’s battery load.

The Quick Tip

Go to Settings > Privacy > Location Services > System Services

Now, turn off everything except the “Cell network search”.

Most of us won’t be using the rest very often. By default, those settings are on, and it consumes a lot of battery power without many of us knowing it.
