Flixster for Blackberry Helps You Find a Movie and Theater | Courtney Social Media Consultant in Los Angeles

Flixster Blackberry Application helps you find a movie AND a theater to watch it in!

Sometimes I’m out, and I’ll decide to catch a movie, but I’m not sure of show times and where to watch it at.

This application will list the hottest and not so hot movies that are currently out in theaters. Once you’ve selected the movie that you’d like to watch, it will then help you find a theater close to you to watch it in!

And if that’s not enough for you, you can also buy the tickets using a Credit Card… all within the Flixster for Blackberry Application.

Sounds like an application that I’ll be keeping.

TVider for Blackberry Storm | Courtney Social Media Consultant in Los Angeles

TVider works great on Blackberry Storm, and Blackberry Storm 2 using the Blackberry Tour Download option available at http://www.tvider.com/u/mobile . I was a little concerned at first, because there wasn’t an option to download the Blackberry Storm version and there wasn’t a reference to Blackberry Storm at all on the page. But I figured I’d just go ahead and give the Blackberry Tour version a try since it’s basically the same thing… *well…kinda*…and it worked GREAT! Yay TVider!

Features Include:

  • Support for 3 types of media – Video, Audio, Pictures.
  • Tools to instantly generate media using webcam and mobile camera.
  • Option to publish a pre-recorded media tweet from your HDD or mobile SD Card memory.

CropIt – Photo Cropping for your BlackBerry | Courtney Social Media Consultant in Los Angeles

I wish we could get CropIt updated for OS 5.0…

I downloaded it knowing that it wouldn’t work on my Storm 2, but wanting to see how far it got until it stopped working…
It got to the point where I could select a second point and save, but it wouldn’t recognize the second point.

I hope the developers over at ALL KAPS Software update this one for OS 5.0 soon. It’d definitely be something IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII’d pay for and recommend to all my folks. I’ve asked for an update in their Forum as well.

However, if you’re still running 4.7 OS on your Blackberry, this application would work great for you!

Sensobi – a better address book for Blackberry | Courtney Social Media Consultant in Los Angeles

Sensobi-Missed-Call-ScreenA few months ago, I had the opportunity to Beta Test Sensobi.

And it was great! But not as great as it is now…

While it’s still in Beta testing, Sensobi outshines the default Blackberry Contacts Address Book. And if you’re a business professional, this application will provide you with a great view of all of your business contacts.

Sensobi keeps your contacts, links them to email entries, and call logs. It allows you to set followups, reminds you to make call backs.  Sensobi is the total package for personal and business contact management.

Check out some of the features!

  • Discover your contacts ranked by importance.
  • Reach out to those who need a response from you.
  • Review your past activity before that important call.
  • Schedule follow up reminders right after the call.
  • Tell Sensobi how often you want to stay in touch.

Boon’s Suggestions:

  • Twitter Integration – This definitely needs twitter integration. Allowing a user to DM a contact or @ Reply a contact in addition to the SMS/CALL functions would be great.
  • BBM Integration – We should be able to BBM the contact in addition to the SMS/CALL functions.

This application was tested on a Verizon Wireless Blackberry Storm 2 using OS 5.0.

You can sign up for Sensobi here: http://www.sensobi.com/form

[review pros="You don't have to modify your current address book" cons="While you don't have to modify your blackberry contacts in any ways, Sensobi loads your contacts every time you reboot your phone." sug="Add links to social networking, and increase application load time." score=90]
